The following information was sent to us by Montgomery College's Marcus Rosano:
Community colleges are the gateway to higher education for more students than ever, as half of all undergraduates in Maryland now attend one of the state’s 16 community colleges. Firmly committed to ensuring that more students achieve the goal of completing a college education, Maryland’s community colleges are teaming up to share best practices for increasing the number of students who earn associate degrees, certificates or workforce credentials, and/or transfer to a four-year institution to complete bachelor’s and advanced degrees. The Maryland Association of Community Colleges’ 2nd Annual “Summit on Completion” will bring together faculty and staff from the 16 community colleges, along with education policymakers and leaders, elected officials and others, to highlight key initiatives and strategies the colleges are undertaking to improve completion rates.
