MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- A 21-year-old man was arrested for sexually assaulting three women in Wheaton, police said.

William Brown, Jr. 21, of Wheaton was charged in connection with committing sexual offenses against the three victims, Montgomery County police said.

The first incident happened on February 4 around 9 a.m. when the 33-year-old victim was using the self-checkout at a Safeway store located on Georgia Avenue. The 21-year-old went up to the victim and started touching her inappropriately, police added. The woman started to resist the suspect and then fled the area. Brown is being charged with fourth degree sex offense, and second degree assault in connection with this incident.

Police said the second incident happened on February 5 around 8:20 a.m. when a 30-year-old woman was putting her groceries in her car after she was shopping at the Safeway store located on Georgia Avenue. The victim's car was parked in the parking garage located under the store. Brown went up to the woman and started touching her inappropriately. Authorities said he grabbed the victim and tried to push her into the car. They began to struggle and she fell to the ground. Police said the suspect fled from the area when a person entered the parking garage. The woman broke her finger. Brown is being charged with second degree rape, fourth degree sex offense, and second degree assault.

Brown is accused of sexually assaulting a 22-year-old woman walking on the sidewalk in the area of Mid-County Regional Services located at 2424 Reedie Drive on February 10 around 8:30 a.m. Police said the suspect went up to the woman from behind, touched her inappropriately, and tried to pull down her pants. The woman was able to get away. Brown fled from the area. He is being charged with attempted second degree rape, fourth degree sex offense, and second degree assault.

Police were able to find Brown based off of the description the victims gave to them.

On February 11, police found Brown entering the same Safeway store where two of the sexual assaults happened. He was arrested.
Brown confirmed to police that he was the same man caught on the surveillance camera. He told authorities that he bumped into a woman in the garage.

He was taken to the Central Processing Unit and is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Authorities believe there many be other victims who were assaulted by Brown.

Anyone who has information regarding a sexual offense involving William Brown. Jr. is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police-Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5050.
