WHEATON, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police have located the missing 16-year-old girl from Wheaton who was last seen on August 1.

Chelsea Denise Ledesma was found safe and unharmed Tuesday, according to police. 

She was described by police as a black female, standing 5'03" tall and weighing 127 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair, according to authorities.

Ledesma often frequents the area of Northwood Terrace in the Kemp Mill area of Wheaton, police said. Her family and police are concerned for her physical and emotional well-being.
