WHS Fashion For Paws Partners With The Jefferson on Launch Event

From Jacquie Toppings: On February 6, 2012 The Jefferson, Washington, DC will host the Fashion for Paws (F4P) 6th Annual Runway Show Launch event. More than 250 of F4P’s supporters, models and committee members are invited to attend this private event that will take place on the first floor of the award-winning hotel, including inside the top-rated Plumerestaurant, wood-paneled boardroom, and the gorgeous, skylight-topped Greenhouse area. All the while, REVAMP.com will fill the space with a playful F4P photography exhibit, featuring more than a dozen colorful images positioned throughout The Jefferson.

F4P began in 2007 and has raised more than $1.5 million dollars for WHS so far, infusing the nation’s capital with cutting edge high fashion, drawing an extraordinary crowd of VIPs, fashion lovers and animal lovers alike. This year, F4P has more than 90 top notch participants raising a minimum of $5000 (increased from $3000 last year) to model in the runway show designed by sponsor Syzygy Event Productions at the National Building Museum to benefit the Washington Humane Society (WHS) on April 14th.  This year the event will be co-chaired by Michelle Benaim, Dr. Ashley Hughes, Tommy McFly and Sara Nielsen, with Pamela Sorensen as our Master of Ceremonies. E! News Now anchor and E! Newscorrespondent Ashlan Gorse will host the event. A Hollywood insider and permanent fixture on the red carpet who has covered the Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes and Grammys, Ashlan is a true animal lover, adopting her beloved dog from a rescue group 1 and a half years ago.

Coinciding with the F4P fundraising launch, Georgetown Cupcake will sell F4P inspired cupcakes in all locations from February 6th through April 14th, donating 100% of the proceeds to WHS.

More than 1700 F4P attendees will revel in the transformation of the National Building Museum on April 14th by sponsors, Syzygy Event Productions, Digital Lightning, Design Cuisine and Edge Floral Event Designers, etc., donating a combined total of more than $350,000 in set design, production, lighting, sound,  staging, food, flowers and more. Opening the show this year the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) will outdo their collection from last year, creating ten individual  human and doggie couture pieces to open the show before our F4P models, dressed in the luxury retailers of Tysons Galleria, take the runway. The Aba Agency will be behind the scenes again this year working to organize the models and the run of the fashion show, a challenging task considering the number of models on two and four legs. Toka Salon & Day Spa will be backstage handling all of the hair styling of the models in the show. Canine couture will be handled by Wagtime and will be in keeping with the designs worn by the two-legged models on the runway.

This year there will be more than 60 VIP seated tables of six people ranging from $3000 to $5000 served a three course meal by our sponsor, Design Cuisine, with a select number of very special VVIP tables for ten people right next to the runway for $10,000. We will have 450 VIP runway show style seats behind the tables this year and 800 general attendees in the main section.
